Training Minka; engaging potential Blue Schools
15 participants were specifically trained to use Minka as an example of citizen science biodiversity data aggregator for collecting data and species identification
One of the Minka Blue Schools related event took place during summer biological camp for scholars from schools of Odesa and Bessarabia. The event took place in the period of 06-17.07.2026 in the vicinities of Novoarkhangelsk city (Kirovohrad region, Syniukha river valley) in a form of camp for more than 100 kids (5th-10th class). During this time one of the teams (15 participants) was specifically trained to use Minka as an example of citizen science biodiversity data aggregator for collecting data and species identification. Within this time, they were trained on how to make photos, upload them to the platform on both web site and web app, analyse the results and use them for possible creation of a new object of Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine on the investigated territories. In this event, such stakeholders as Ukrainian Nature Conservation Group; Rewilding Ukraine and Danube Biosphere Reserve were involved and participated actively. As a result - more than 300 records and more than 10 new participants were added to Minka. In the end of the even - kind made a poster presentation of their results with corresponding referencing to the project.
