The Santorini Blue Loop Living Lab Kick-off Meeting on 15 May marked the official launch of the Living Lab process in Santorini. It was designed as the first structured meeting with local stakeholders, bringing together local authorities, businesses, fishers, the educational community, civil society actors, European project partners, and active citizens.
The meeting introduced the vision, objectives, structure, and planned activities of the Santorini Blue Loop Living Lab, while opening a first space for dialogue and co-creation around key challenges for the island, including marine pollution, sustainable tourism, water management, circular economy, blue economy, and community-based environmental action.
Rather than serving only as a formal presentation event, the Kick-off Meeting acted as the starting point for long-term collaboration on the island. It helped establish a common understanding among stakeholders, identify shared priorities, and set the basis for future Living Lab actions, pilots, partnerships, and local engagement activities.
In this sense, the 15 May meeting was the moment when the Santorini Blue Loop Living Lab moved from planning to implementation, activating Santorini as a real-life testing and collaboration space for circular, resilient, and community-driven island development.
First meeting and presentation of the goals of the living lab with the main stakeholders and some representatives of the local community.
